Michael Steinberger

Tenor Michael Steinberger is featured as soloist on the Clarion Choir’s 2017 GRAMMY-nominated recording Passion Week (Maximilian Steinberg). Michael also appears on Clarion’s follow-up recording Memory Eternal – Alexander Kastalsky’s requiem in honor of lives lost in World War I – itself nominated for a GRAMMY award in 2019. Michael appears frequently with Great Music in a Great Space series at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC. Other recent highlights include the recording and world concert premiere of And the Hummingbird Says… a five-part song cycle for vocal quartet and electronics composed by Mihoko Suzuki with libretto by Martin Rowe on the late Kenyan environmentalist and Nobel Peace Laureate, Wangari Maathai. Michael is a long time member of Pomerium, Waverly Consort and the New York Virtuoso Singers, and in recent seasons has been a featured artist with Artek, Parthenia, Musica Sacra, and Amor Artis.
