Mikel Hill is a priest of the Orthodox Church and the operations manager of St. Tikhon’s Monastery Bookstore and Press. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Bowling Green State University, where he specialized in Composition and Early Music Vocal Performance. He has performed professionally as a tenor in a wide range of ensembles. He has also played violin at the collegiate level and has enjoyed fiddling for several bluegrass bands. Among his greatest musical enjoyments are playing for contradances, singing at the monastery choir stand, and improvising on the piano or cello. Fr. Mikel also enjoys fine woodworking, 19th-century English literature, and the study of theological epistemology. He has sung with The Saint Tikhon Choir since 2015. Fr. Mikel, his wife, Rachel, and their five children live at St. Tikhon’s Monastery.
