Alison spent her childhood years in the Solomon Islands, where she received her first musical exposure from the robust vocals and rich harmonies of the Melanesians. Throughout high school and college, she sang in various choral ensembles and performed live with her guitar. She has sung in Orthodox Church choirs for over a decade and recently spent three years receiving vocal training from Talia Maria Sheehan and singing for the St Tikhon’s Women’s Choir, while her husband attended St Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania. They live in South Carolina, where she can be heard singing folk songs and nursery rhymes with her three small children.
